Freelance
Multilingual Headless CMS
A headless CMS for many teams at once, with a Go and PostgreSQL backend, a React admin and REST and GraphQL APIs. As a freelancer I designed and built how it handles content in multiple languages, and led a refresh of the admin app's design.
What I built
- Built multi-language entries end to end: the database changes, the Go services, the APIs, a side-by-side translation editor, and a filter that shows what's still untranslated.
- Changed how language versions are linked, from their URL slug (which broke when anyone edited it) to a stable group ID. I migrated the existing data safely and made the database guarantee one original per entry.
- Built one-click AI translation that translates a whole entry in a single request, and flags translations that have gone out of date since the original changed.
- Made web addresses work in any language, so a Nepali title gets a Nepali URL instead of a generic one.
- Led a design refresh across about a dozen parts of the admin app, including navigation, onboarding, publishing, API keys, webhooks and media, with tests to back it up.
